Day 22/ 31 days of #toddlerartinvitations
Invitation to paint on an upright easel outdoors. We haven’t gone outside to play in weeks as it’s just been too hot, so when there was a slight cool change today with a beautiful breeze, we quickly took the opportunity to play in our yard, perfect day for it too as little miss toddler was extremely grumpy the entire time after getting up from her nap.
After some sandpit play and water play, I set up some painting supplies in a little tray on top of a milk crate next to her easel and asked her to let me take one photo before she could go for it. As you can see, she was waiting very (im)patiently for me 😂.
Painting is definitely one of her all-time favourite activities and she absolutely loves it. She was in a very strange mood today though and began to sob while continuing to paint. I thought perhaps she changed her mind about painting so I asked if she wanted to stop and she said “mummy more light blue there” while pointing to the middle of the palette and then continuing to cry. It was the strangest thing 😳.
I honestly didn’t know what to make of it so I just stood there and let her cry and paint simultaneously 🙃. I was so confused watching her that I only managed to take ONE photo of her painting at the very start haha.
Ah well, at least she had fun. Or maybe not? 🤨
